Whiskey exports vastly decline amid trade war

WSAHINGTON D.C. (WEHT) – A new report says President Donald Trump’s trade war is causing U.S. whiskey exports to decline.

The Distilled Spirits Coucil says overall exports of bourbon, Tennessee whiskey, and rye whiskey tumbled amid export declines to key European markets. These declines were induced by the trade war.

The EU first imposed tariffs on American whiskey in 2018, along with other products, in response to the President’s decision to slap tariffs on European steel and aluminum.
