The Madisonville Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation (MHCEDC) has announced the winners of the 2018 Idea Competition.
The competition showcased innovative business ideas from Hopkins County High School Students, and is a way to engage students within the entrepreneurial community.
MHCEDC President Ray Hagerman says, “We are excited about this year’s ideas. Bright young people are the future of our community and we look forward to helping them take the first step toward achieving their dreams.”
The Idea Competition was held on Thursday at Kentucky Innovation Station, with the aspiring entrepreneurs pitching their ideas in front of a three-judge panel.
Winners of the competition took home cash prizes totaling $1750.
The 2018 ‘Idea Competition’ Winners are:
- First Place: Joshua Plain / “Cryptocurrency Financial Advisor”
- Second Place: Emily Couchman/ “Chicken Tracker”
- Third Place: Houston Knox / “Mad Pops”
