EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville woman accused of defrauding several grieving families makes her first court appearance since new charges were filed against her last week.
Caroline Rich was charged with eight counts of theft, forgery and identity deception last week.
She’s accused of taking tens of thousands of dollars from three families who were planning funerals.
Rich is also charged for allegedly taking more than $18,000 from the Dill family, whose three-year-old child died while in a hot car at USI earlier this year.
Another hearing is scheduled for October 30th.
