HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- The Henderson Police Department says they arrested 41-year-old Jennifer Martin, of Newburgh after she reportedly tried to take off on foot into southbound traffic on Hwy 41 in Henderson Friday night.

Authorities say they responded to a report of a woman running in and out of traffic near Ellis Park on Hwy 41. When they located and approached Martin, police say she tried to take off on foot before police were able to apprehend her.

Police also say Martin was “under the influence of a controlled substance” and was charged with fleeing police and public intoxication. It is unclear why Martin attempted to run in and out of traffic.
