Woman dies after being struck by lightning at Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. (WEHT) – A woman died after being struck by lightning on the campus of Murray State University.

The university’s communication director said the woman was visiting the school with her family and her child for a summer program.

The storm that brought the lightning came through on Sunday.

It was the same system that brought a tornado to the Moors Resort & Marina on Kentucky Lake.

The woman was struck outside of White Residential Hall.

The victim’s name has not been released.
