LOOGOOTEE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said a traffic stop led to meth dealing charges for a Shoals woman.
The sheriff’s office said on Halloween evening, a deputy on patrol saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation.
The deputy pulled the vehicle over and during the investigation, authorities said they found approximately 12 grams of a white crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for meth.
The alleged meth was packaged into multiple small baggies and syringes were also located, authorities said.
There were also minor children in the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
Melissa Wininger, 36, was identified as the driver and arrested.
Wininger faces the following charges:
- Dealing Methamphetamine
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Unlawful Possession of Syringes
- Possession of Paraphernalia
- Neglect of a Dependant (three counts)
- Maintaining a Common Nuisance
