Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Friday that 32-year-old Ciarra Landfair was sentenced to 45 years in prison for murder.

Landfair was convicted of murder in connection with a body found by law enforcement near the Ohio River in June.

Authorities said 23-year-old Kimra Miller was murdered at home in the 1600 block of S. Garvin St. in late May.

Three women, including Landfair, were questioned by investigators concerning their possible involvement.

All three were arrested for various charges related to the homicide.

“The criminal justice system cannot bring this young woman back, but we hope her family feels
some sense of justice after today,” said Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Nick Hermann.

The other two women charged in connection with the case, Gracie Smith and Lakeysha Couto, still have pending criminal matters, the prosecutor’s office said.
