Wood Memorial to offer students free admission to athletic events

Local News

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WEHT) – There may not be such a thing as a free lunch, but next year there will be free high school athletic events in one southern Indiana school corporation.

The East Gibson School corporation will not charge its students an admission fee to athletic events at Wood Memorial Junior High and Senior High beginning this fall.

Officials say they believe allowing students in free will build school pride, school spirit, and attendance.

Parents, visiting students, and the general public will still be charged an admission fee to see games at Wood Memorial.
