EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- The YMCA of Southwestern Indiana announced Friday that its facilities will remain closed to the public through May 23rd. The decision comes hours after Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb rolled out his plan to reopen the state in phases through July 4.
In a release, the YMCA says it will continue to follow regulations from state, local, and federal officials and is working to finalize plans for reopening.
While the facilities are closed, the YMCA is continuing to provide food for people in need, providing childcare for the children of healthcare workers and first responders, doing wellness checks on seniors, and providing information on its website and Facebook page.
