Young Joins Finance Committee Members to Probe U.S. Organ Transplant System

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WEHT) –  U.S. Senator Todd Young announced he joined the Senate Finance Committee to examine the U.S. Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN).

In a press release, it was stated that Senator Young, along with Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), sent a request for information and data to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).

Some information requested included data and documentation related to delayed, mishandled or damaged organs over the last ten years as well as data not recovered or not transplanted over the last ten years.
