A judge hands down the sentence for Michael Loveless.
Court records indicate Loveless was sentenced to one year probation for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a level 6 felony. Loveless received credit for 53 days served, so his probation period will last 312 days.
Loveless was initially charged with rape, intimidation, criminal confinement and battery in February 2016. However, Scott Danks confirmed a plea deal was reached in May that dropped the previous charges in exchange for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
At the time of the alleged incident, Loveless was a firefighter with the Evansville Fire Department. He was immediately suspended without pay on February 23, 2016, the day of the alleged incident.
The Merit Commission will decide if Loveless will be suspended from the fire department.
