A man accused of running a Ponzi scheme is due in court Thursday for a pretrial hearing in Vanderburgh County.
Eric Morgan faces 15 counts of securities fraud.
He’s accused of convincing people to invest in his energy drink company, Liquid Ninja.
Instead of investing the money, prosecutors say he used it on himself.
Morgan also faces a charge for allegedly writing a bad check for more than $200,000 to rent a storage unit.
The Secretary of State’s Office says four people invested $600,000 in what they thought was Morgan’s company.
Securities professionals and investment products are required by law to be licensed.
The state reports both Morgan and Liquid Ninja were not licensed in Indiana.
