As we remember the men and women who died in combat serving our country this Memorial Day, several ceremonies take place across the Tri-State.
Nearly a hundred people, including Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, were at Oak Hill Cemetery Monday morning for a brief service.
It was moved to the chapel because of inclement weather.
Those in attendance say such ceremonies serve as an annual reminder to remember those who gave so much.
“It was a family tradition We would always do that. I was born in the 40s, and in the 50s, we would always go out for Decoration Day and, it’s a family tradition, I guess.” Tom Lynch.
Other services were held today at Locust Hill cemetery in Evansville and in Owensboro.
