Two issues related to the McCurdy renovation project were on Evansville Redevelopment Commission’s agenda Tuesday morning.
The owners of the property, the Kunkel Group, says it plans to turn the historic riverfront property into 113 apartment units.
The redevelopment commission voted unanimously to forgive an outstanding mortgage from 2006 with the former owner, Center City.
Commissioners also voted to extend a license agreement allowing the Kunkel Group to use the city-owned parking lot next to the property.
The Kunkel Group’s lender required both of those items to be completed before they close on the construction loan in late August.
The project is expected to be anywhere from 9 to 13 million dollars.
