The Tri-State Food Bank was handing out food to people in need on Wednesday night.
It set up its mobile pantry at Bethesda Church on Stringtown Rd. distributing food bags on a first-come first-served basis.
Officials say they operate mobile food pantries two to three times a month but hope to double that in the near future.
“We supply food to soup kitchens and pantries,” said Executive Director Glenn Roberts, “and occasionally with something like this we’re actually able to put food directly in the hands of clients. And there’s nothing more rewarding than helping those in need.”
The Tri-State Food Bank says it’s always in need of food and monetary donations and is looking for more volunteers. Visit its website for more information.
