More Kentucky college students receiving degrees, certificates

KENTUCKY (WEHT) – More Kentucky college and university students are receiving undergraduate degrees and certificates, but enrollment numbers are down.

Public and Independent Colleges and Universities conferred a record 76,000 degrees and credentials last school year, which is 39% higher than 10 years ago.

Enrollment data for the fall 2019 semester shows a two percent decline.

The State Council on Postsecondary Education said this trend indicates a strong commitment to complete college.
