More options available for telemedicine

(WEHT)-Going to the doctor is hard right now as hospitals have limited services to prevent the spread of coronavirus. But before the outbreak, Deaconess hospital started a program to make it easier to be seen by a doctor at home.

The device is called Tyto-Home. You use it to connect with a doctor for a virtual visit. You can even take your own vital signs for better quality of care from home.

“I feel more confident in the diagnostic capabilities I have when I’m seeing a patient so the stethoscope especially is as high-quality as if I were listening to you with my Welch Allen stethoscope on your chest so I really am not losing any quality to that exam when I’m using this device,” Amanda Bohleber says.

Kits like these can be used to check ears, throats, fever, and pulse.

Ascension St. Vincent is also set-up to take virtual visits. Just call your doctor’s office to see if it is an option for you.
