Murder Charges Formally Filed in Warrick County Death Investigation

Eyewitness News has learned via court documents that the four people in custody in connection with the death of a Martinsville man.

The Warrick County Prosecutor’s office files formal charges in connection with the murder investigation of Joseph Nelson.

Shawn Grigsby, David Lackey, and Jade Stigall are all being held in the Warrick County Jail. All three face murder, and conspiracy to commit murder charges.

They could soon be joined by their alleged accomplice, Jade Stigall’s brother Matt McCallister. Currently McCallister is being held in the Marion County Jail. 

Nelson’s body was found last week near Alcoa’s power plant.  Deputies say he was shot execution-style. 
Now that formal charges have been filed, the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office will have ten business days to bring McCallister in front of a judge. McCallister was being held in Marion County on a warrant from Vanderburgh County on an unrelated incident. That was fortunate for Warrick County since charges against McCallister have just been filed.

Grigsby, Lackey, and Stigall are all due in court Thursday.  We will have updates tomorrow on Eyewitness News. McCallister could be in Warrick County Court anytime within thethe next two weeks.
