Monday, preliminary rounds of the National Geographic Bee will take place in Washington D.C.
A total of 50 state champs as well as champions from the District of Columbia, the United States Territories, and Department of Defense schools will all travel to D.C. to compete in this annual national geography competition.
Thousands of schools participate in the National Geographic Bee each year using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society.
This year’s national champion will be crowned on Wednesday, May 13.
