105-year-old veteran dies in Arizona

(WEHT)- One of the longest living veterans from the Second World War died Saturday at 105 years old. Sophie Yazzie was born in 1914 and joined the US Army Air Corps when she was 28 years old.

Navajo Nation President, Jonathan Nez said Nazzie was a “warrior for our Navajo people who served our country with great honor and dignity.” While Arizona governor, Doug Ducey tweeted “Arizona is forever grateful for her service.”
