(CNN) – Trains, planes or automobiles: it doesn’t matter which way you’re traveling for the holidays. You’re going to prepare for a long wait.

According to AAA, this holiday season is breaking records.

It’s expected that 115.6 million people will leave their homes for the holiday within a 12-day period.

That’s nearly 4 million more people hitting the highways compared to last year.

As for other forms of transportation, another 4 million are expected to travel by trains, buses, and cruise ships to their holiday spots.
