Emergency crews find body of skier swept away in avalanche

National News

(WEHT)- Crews in California found the remains of Cole Comstock after an avalanche Friday. The 34-year-old was out skiing Friday morning after a snowstorm that prompted some avalanche warnings Thursday night.

Comstock’s wife, Caitlin posted “he loved skiing and loved living life. He deeply loved his friends his family and above all his wife. He supported everyone with all of his heart and was a true example of unconditional love.”

Another skier was also swept up by the avalanche and was taken to a local hospital with “severe lower body injuries.” Their name has not been released. First responders thanked the dozens of volunteers who came out to help search for Comstock.
