Original Story

FORT WORTH, Tx. (WEHT) – The Fort Worth Police Officer who shot and killed a woman in her home over the weekend has been arrested and charged with murder. Aaron Dean is in the Tarrant County Jail.

A news conference has been scheduled for 8:30 p.m. to discuss the case.

28-year-old Atatiana Jefferson was playing video games with her nephew inside her home when she was shot and killed.

A call came in from Jefferson’s neighbor for a wellness check. He told dispatchers her door was open and that was unusual.

Police body cam video shows Dean approaching and walking around the house and nearing a window, never identifying himself as police. Seconds later he started shooting.

The community is demanding action and the victim’s family is asking for someone outside of the city to investigate the shooting.
