Impeachment fight resumes in 2020

WASHINGTON D.C. (WEHT) – Congress officially went back in session on Friday. Democrats and Republicans wasted no time resuming their battle over impeachment.

On the Senate floor, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) dismissed Democratic demands for how he runs President Donald Trump’s trial in the Senate.

Sen. McConnell said he plans to follow the patterns set by the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.

The two articles of impeachment remain in the House.

Democrats said they won’t send the articles to the Senate until Republicans promise them a ‘real trial.’
