Journalist, pilot killed in stunt plane in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, La. (CNN) – Two people have died in a small plane crash near a New Orleans-area airport.

Nancy Parker, a local journalist from CNN affiliate WVUE was killed in the crash.

She was shooting a story in a stunt plane when the crash happened in a field near the New Orleans lakefront airport.

Parker and the pilot both died in the crash.

Authorities say the plane was headed for a landing Friday afternoon.

Parker was 53 and is survived by her husband and three children.

Agents from the FAA and NTSB are on their way to the scene to begin the investigation.
