The legendary actor known for his distinctive voice is celebrating another year.
James Earl Jones is celebrating his 88th birthday.
According to the Academy of Achievement, the legendary actor with the booming baritone voice was born on January 17, 1931 in Arkabutla Township, Mississippi.
Jones is known for many roles on screen, including “Fields of Dreams” and “Coming to America”.
But it may be Jones’ distinctive voice that most people are familiar with.
He was the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars movies, and the man behind CNN’s tagline “This is CNN”.
Jones, who voiced Mufasa, in 1994’s animated, “The Lion King”, will also be voicing Mufasa in this year’s live action version.
