Dozens of people showed up at a public shool’s administration building to speak out against a game taught at an elementary school in Virginia.
On Tuesday night, they spoke out against the physical education game, where kids were asked to act as runaway slaves.
The local NAACP chapter is working with the school system to make necessary changes.
But still, some parents were outraged.
“It’s not a game, it’s to be respected, it’s history. It needs to be well thought out.”
“It is the responsibility of the administration to take it seriously, that we weed out this issue of implicit bias and racism.”
The superintendent there released a statement, saying “we are committed to dedicating the resources necessary to address issues of equity now and in the future.”
