(WEHT)- Even after Congress passed the CARES Act, which guarantees $10 billion for rural healthcare providers, some congresspeople are afraid it still might not be enough.

Democratic Congressman Lloyd Doggett represents Texas’ 35th Congressional District and said “So many of our hospitals that were under great threat before this pandemic ever happened, now they have declining revenues and increased needs.”

Approximately 2,000 rural hospitals will be included in the next round of funding.
