San Francisco airport bans some single-use plastic bottles

National News

SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) – San Francisco’s Airport is cutting down on waste by banning vendors from selling plastic water bottles.

Airport vendors will now sell water in aluminum, glass or compostable containers.

The ban does not apply to any flavored drinks.

This is part of the airport’s goal to become zero-waste by 2021, which means 90% of the waste it produces can’t go to landfills.
