WASHINGTON D.C. (WEHT) – Indiana’s junior US Senator said he will vote against the proposed $1.4 trillion federal spending plan.
Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) said there are a lot of things in the bill he likes, but he said the bill still allows the federal government to spend too much.
Among other things, the bill includes $1.3 billion for the president’s border wall, $22 billion in increased defense spending, $1.5 billion for the opioid crisis, and increased funding for early childhood education.
The House passed the spending plan earlier this week.
The Senate needs to approve it before the weekend or the federal government will technically run out of money.
