WASHINGTON D.C. (WEHT) – Two Tri-State lawmakers, Senator Todd Young (R-Indiana) and Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois), held a press conference Tuesday supporting the Tobacco to 21 Act.

Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) and Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) were also at the press conference.

The act calls for raising the federal minimum age to buy tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, to 21.

In April, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) identified such a proposal as one of his top priorities.
