(CNN) – Online shopping isn’t just a fad, but there are some drawbacks to only seeing pictures of the products.
But a Utah tech company is looking to make that less of a concern.
‘Seek’, is using an augmented reality to bring shopping to life.
When shopping online, there’s always the risk that what you buy isn’t what you had in mind.
Whether it’s clothing, furniture, tech or toys, the two-dimensional picture only goes so far.
Augmented Reality (AR) already comes on the newer Android and Apple phones. Consumers would just have to click on the photo, then select the AR view.
It will let you see things like a couch or table and how it would fit in your home.
‘Seek’ isn’t just working with big retailers, AR is also being used by animal shelters to let individuals get a better look at the animal they’re thinking of adopting.
The company thinks they’ll have that feature up and running in a year or two.
Other big brands working with ‘Seek’ are Amazon, Lego and Volvo.
