Tiger found in abandoned Houston home

National News

An anonymous 311 call led Houston’s Police Department and Livestock Animal Cruelty Unit to an abandoned home with a 350-pound female tiger inside.

Police say the tiger was found when someone went into the vacant home to smoke marijuana.

The tiger was enclosed in a cage and had several packages of meat with it, but officials say it was found in deplorable conditions.
Laura Cottingham of Houston’s BARC Animal Shelter says finding a forever home for a tiger is not easy.

“We found an animal rescue center that is going to come and take her this morning and transfer her to a location that has the facilities and the veterinarians who specialize in big cats.”
