Social Security expected to run out of funds for full payments in 2034

(WEHT) – Social Security funds are expected to run short a year earlier than previously expected due to the shock of the pandemic recession.

New projections show the Social Security’s trust fund won’t be able to pay full benefits in 2034. After that, only 78 percent of people in the program would be able to receive full payments.

Indiana Congressman Larry Bucshon joined Eyewitness News to talk about the crisis.
