A new section of greenway on Highway 41 in Evansville is almost finished.

Construction workers were putting some finishing touches on new pavement Thursday.

This stretch of Pigeon Creek Greenway is about a mile and a half, from Riverside Dr. to Walnut St.

This work costs around $2 million and most of it was paid for with federal grants.

According to Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, paving should be finished by Friday.

The new extension will have rest areas, benches, bike racks and lights at night.
