New policy approved requires students to pass drug test before playing sports.

OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT)- Random drug testing for students started at another western Kentucky school district. Ohio County schools approved a new policy where middle and high school students must pass a random drug test before they can participate in sports and other activities or who have parking permits.

Superintendent Seth Southard tells us it’s based on Henderson County schools policy which was approved a few years ago. Southard said it could also deter students from using drugs and identify those who have a problem.
