The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to install a new traffic signal at the intersection of KY 144/East 4th Street and KY 2830 (Old US 60) in Owensboro.

Installation of the new signal is about a 60 to 90 day process.

Motorists should be alert for personnel and bucket trucks working in and around the intersection, as the installation progresses in phases.

Support pole installation for the new signal has already begun.

This intersection is on Owensboro’s east side, along KY 144, just west of the US 60 Exit 21 Owensboro Interchange.

Approximately 8,000 vehicles travel through this intersection on an average day.

KYTC will provide timely notice to the public when the new signal is ready to be activated.

At the time of activation, a new turn lane will be opened at the intersection.

All installation work is weather-dependent.
