CAYCE, SC (WEHT/WSPA) – Cayce Department of Public Safety officials have released new information in the investigation into the death of 6-year-old Faye Swetlik.

Cayce Department of Public Safety’s Director Byron Snellgrove confirmed that Swetlik’s body was found Thursday.

Snellgrove said a man’s body was also found in the Churchill Heights neighborhood.

On Friday, officials said that man was 30-year-old Cody Taylor. The Cayce Police Department describes Taylor as a neighbor of Swetlik’s with no criminal history. He was not known to law enforcement before this week.

Cayce Police said a piece of evidence was found inside a trash can at Taylor’s home.

Police did not release any more details, but said more is expected to be released over the coming days.

Autopsies on both Swetlik and Taylor are scheduled for Saturday.
