Ohio River continues to rise in Owensboro

News

The Ohio River continues its approach onto Smothers Park.

The water was just below the edge of the park Friday morning.

The National Weather Service said the Ohio River will crest around 44 feet on Saturday.

Owensboro city workers put a line of sandbags down earlier this week to keep as much of the water out of the park.

Smothers Park is still open but a section along the river is blocked off.
