Okra Fritters


Ange’s brother Roger Humphrey joined us on Wednesday to teach us how to make okra fritters.

Here’s the recipe details:

3/4 cup of cornmeal
1 cup of flour
1cup of buttermilk
1 egg
3cups chopped okra
1 cup chopped onion
salt and pepper to taste
dash of smoked paprika
dash of garlic powder
dash of Tony Chacheres Spice n Herbs seasoning

blend together buttermilk, egg, flour,cornmeal, and seasoning in large bowl
add chopped okra and onion
use 2 tablespoons to scoop out and rake off the fritters into 350 degree oil
fry to golden brown
