One Evansville woman says she loves living near Fall Festival

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The large crowds can sometimes be a hassle for neighbors who live near west franklin street.

But one lady says she loves living next to the Fall Festival.

Shirley Thomas’s house may be the closest to the festival.

She says she enjoys seeing all the people and eating so much food every year.

She even sits outside her home to watch everyone.

Thomas says she sees some wild things, especially at the Porta-Johns.

Shirley Thomas: “well, they get pretty anxious. There’s a line a lot of times.”
Reporter: “and so you get to see them dancing?”
Shirley Thomas: “you’re putting words in my mouth now.”

Thomas says parking is not an issue for her family. She doesn’t drive anymore, and they don’t move their cars unless there is an emergency.
