One person killed in crash, Highway 431 reopen south of Owensboro

Authorities say one person has died in a crash on Highway 431 south of Owensboro.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office closed the road for around three hours, before opening things back up around 10:00 a.m.

According to Daviess County dispatch, a crash happened just before 7:00 a.m. involving a semi truck and another vehicle.

A person in the vehicle hit by the semi truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi wasn’t seriously injured. 

A witness at the scene said the vehicle was trying to turn onto Marksberry Road when it and the semi truck collided.

The area of the crash is just north of Utica, but south of Southern Oaks Elementary School.
