OPD: Two people hit by car, one of them shot

Update

Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly injured two people by firing a gun at one person and striking both people with a vehicle.

On Friday, the Owensboro Police Department responded to an altercation in the area of East 19th St. and Alexander Ave., where a victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot as well as being struck by a vehicle which left the scene.

The victim of the gunshot has been identified as 38-years-old Chris Green of Owensboro.
Green was transported to Owensboro Regional Hospital.

Officers also said 30-year-old Brittany Swihart had a minor injury after being struck by the vehicle. She was treated on the scene.

The case is under investigation and authorities are looking for the suspect, who is said to have a dark colored passenger car.

Owensboro Police are searching for a car involved in a shooting on East 19th Street Friday morning.

OPD said just after 8:00 a.m. officers received a call about a person being shot and hit by a car near Alexnander Street.

Owensboro Police said that once at the scene, they found one person with a gunshot wound. Officers said that same person had also been hit by a dark colored car.

Eventually that victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Police said an additional person was also hit by the car as it left the scene.

No arrests have been made. Police are asking for anyone who saw a dark colored car in the area of East 19th Street and Alexander Street Friday morning to give them a call.
