David Orentlicher has dropped out of Indiana’s 8th District Congressional race for the Democratic Party’s nomination. This means Ron Drake will be the Democratic Party’s nominee in this fall’s election against incumbent Republican Rep. Larry Bucshon.

A recount had just wrapped up in the race between Drake and Orentlicher, and a winner was expected to be named in a couple weeks.

On Friday afternoon, Orentlicher says he called Ron Drake to congratulate him on his win. Orentlicher decided to suspend the recount process since he says it was clear that Mr. Drake will win.

Orentlicher also endorsed Ron Drake in the November race against Rep. Bucshon.

Andrew Horning is the third name on the ballot in this race as the Libertarian Party’s nominee.
