A western Kentucky airport and a national airline are celebrating a major milestone.
It’s the 10th anniversary of Allegiant Airlines flights landing and leaving Owensboro Daviess County Regional Airport.
More than 330,000 passengers used Allegiant to go to Orlando and other places.
To mark the anniversary, Allegiant is increasing flights to Orlando this summer to three flights a week.
“We’re very, very proud in order to have an agreement with them and such a long-standing relationship that’s very beneficial not only for the airport, but for Allegiant, and for the local economy. Allegiant Airlines is an economic engine in itself for this part of Kentucky and this region.”
Allegiant officials say sales for that third flight started Tuesday.
