First Responders across western Kentucky are remembering the life of an Owensboro firefighter.
David McCrady passed away Wednesday at the age of 50.
The former Owensboro Fire Battalion Chief was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013, causing him to retire after more than two decades on the job.
He lobbied for changes to Kentucky law, allowing for families whose loved one dies of cancer to be eligible for line of duty death benefits.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at noon for Saint Stephen’s Cathedral in Owensboro.
Visitation will be Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home starting at 2:00 p.m.
