The name of Owensboro Health’s medical group will change but officials say the care they provide will stay the same.

The medical group’s new name, One Health, was unveiled Monday morning. Owensboro Health officials say the new name will reflect their goal to make health care simple to understand and reflect the group’s goals. One health has 15 clinics across 14 counties in Kentucky and Indiana, with a total of more than 140 physicians.

“I think what it does is it allows us to help reintroduce how large and complex we are, and the abilities we have as a system across the 14 counties,” says Philip Patterson, Owensboro Health President & C.E.O.

Officials add the change will not effect the cost of care or any insurance plans.
