Gov. Matt Bevin has named one of western Kentucky’s top law enforcement officials to a statewide council overseeing training.
Owensboro Police Chief Art Ealum is joining the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
It oversees the training of thousands of officers across the commonwealth and their instructors.
Chief Art Ealum says he’s excited about the opportunity.
“You want qualified instructors instructing officers in Kentucky. The quality of the training dictates how your responsiveness to the community goes, and community support as well,” says Chief Ealum.
He’s one of 12 members appointed by the governor.
Daviess County Sheriff Keith Cain chairs the 23-person committee.
