Owensboro School Officials Vote Not to Raise Taxes

The School Board for Owensboro Public Schools decides they will not raise property taxes.

The board had the option to increase those taxes to help fund raises for teachers. But when we talked to Superintendent Nick Brake, he told us they could give those teachers their raises without raising taxes.

The board voted unanimously to keep property taxes at their current rate.
