OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – What started out as a traffic stop ended with an Owensboro woman’s arrest.

Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Owensboro Police tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Frederica Street when the driver fled.

A short time later, police say they found the vehicle parked in a driveway on Placid Place, where a man exited the car.

When officers approached the man, they say 24-year-old Aieral White got into the driver’s seat and took off, nearly hitting the officer.

Police say the woman pointed a gun at the man telling him not to stop and then exit the vehicle after it was stopped.

Officers tried to locate White, but were unsuccessful at first. They later found her and she was arrested.

White is facing a laundry list of charges, including robbery, theft of an automobile, wanton endangerment, fleeing police, trafficking meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She’s being held in the Daviess County Jail.

If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to call OPD at 270-687-8888, or Crime Stoppers 270-687-8484. Callers can remain anonymous.
